Since then technology has moved on, graphic designers draw freehand less and less and have replaced traditional methods with computer programs. In light of these advancements I decided to take the plunge and enroll on the BTEC National Diploma in Graphic Design at Northampton College. It was something I had been thinking about for a long time, I work in marketing and have always particularly enjoyed the visual communication element.
In my first year I've successful completed numerous pieces of work by hand and have improved my drawing skills greatly as well as learning how to work with software packages such as InDesign and Photoshop.
The BTEC has helped me over come my apprehensions and has given me the confidence to follow my aspirations for the future. The course is challenging and hard work at times but I enjoy it. In enrolling I've discovered something that I feel very passionate about. I'm certain that graphic design will continue to shape & enrich my life in the future.
