If you love life, and believe it’s there to be lived to the full, you’re in the right place.

Visitors to Northamptonshire are often struck by what a green county it is. You’re never far from some inspiring countryside: rolling hills, meandering rivers, ‘proper walking terrain’ and stunning vistas.
We can boast country estates, forests and woods, grand gardens, lakes and waterways. Whether it’s family fun, a quiet ramble, or just a tranquil spot, Northamptonshire offers it in abundance.

Northamptonshire towns are blessed with green spaces. Even in the busiest of town centres, you only have to turn a corner to come across a calm oasis of garden or an open space, fringed with trees.
Our town parks are also often hives of activity, with a dazzling array of events going on them throughout the year, as local people make the most of the greenery within walking distance.
When it comes to country parks, we are spoilt for choice in this part of the country. From the historic, like Rockingham Forest, to the unique, such as Salcey Forest with its amazing treetop walks, there are acres and acres of woodland, open fields and waterways to explore.
People don't just come for the stunning views - there's a wealth of activity going on in our country parks, with something for everyone, from biking to birdwatching, from walking to watersports.

Maybe it’s because our local environment is so beautiful that we’re so keen on being environmentally friendly.

Almost 100 entries were made in the four categories in 2009, the first year of the awards. Kate Dent, Head of Tourism from Northamptonshire Enterprise Limited, said “This is such an exciting project. We extend our huge congratulations to all the finalists. All the businesses involved have impressed us with the excellent high standards”.
