There is a thriving sports scene all across Northamptonshire, from professional down to grass roots levels.

With over 43 cricket clubs across the county, it’s no wonder that Northamptonshire has been so successful at a national level. Cricket has always been a popular sport in the county, and is played with great enthusiasm in many schools through the county.
Championing the county’s cricket is the Northants Cricket Club (NCC) founded in 1878. Our current star spinner is Monty Panesar who has been chosen to play in the Ashes test series alongside another Northamptonshire-born spinner, Graeme Swann.
