
There is a thriving sports scene all across Northamptonshire, from professional down to grass roots levels.


Whilst there are a number of rugby clubs across the county, the most famous of all are the Northampton Saints.
The Saints play their home games at Franklin's Gardens, which has a capacity of 13,600.
The Saints have just completed a very successful season, winning the European Challenge Cup in 2009 and coming 8th in the Guinness Premiership in 2008/8 season.




Other renowned clubs in the area include Old Northamptonians, formed in 1923. Over the years the club has produced many excellent payers who have gone on to play for both the Northampton Saints, the British Lions and England
Towcestrians RFC who are the longest established club in South Northamptonshire and has one of the most successful junior clubs in the East Midlands.
