Northamptonshire has such a diverse arts and culture scene there’s sure to be something that will interest and inspire you.

We can boast a surprising number of theatres and concert venues, covering all genres and tastes. We have over 40 outstanding, and in cases unique, museums, plus countless galleries.
With such glorious surroundings, and a thought-provoking history, it’s no surprise that Northamptonshire has such a successful cultural and artistic landscape.

This museum is home to Northampton’s world famous shoe collection. The Life & Sole gallery shows the history of shoemaking and recreates a Northampton shoe factory. There’s a gallery showing how fashions in shoes have changed over a hundred years. Examples include designs by Salvatore Ferragomo, Manolo Blahnik and Vivienne Westwood.
The Museum also houses collections charting the history of the town from the Stone Age to the present day.
The Art Gallery has a permanent collection of paintings and ceramics, including a large number of Italian paintings dating from the 15th to 18th centuries, and hosts a number of changing exhibitions through the year.
