
The Run 09 is the the first road race to ever take place in Northampton, with runners, walkers and joggers all taking part.


Not only does Northamptonshire boast 4,300 miles of public pathway, numerous town and country parks, and even miles of tranquil canal towpaths to run on, you’ll also be able to take in some inspiring views.
The variation of our countryside and parks means there’s something for every level of ability, and there are plenty of ways to add variety to your training.




You will never be short of somewhere to go for a jog. Some interesting routes include :
Abington Park, The Racecourse, Sywell Country Park, Pitsford, Delapre, Stanwick Lakes, Sixfields Lake, Daventry Country Park, Harlestone Firs, and Brampton Valley.

If the fresh air outside gets a bit too bracing, you can hit the treadmills in one of the numerous gyms and fitness centres around the county. There’s bound to be one within a short jog of where you are.
Almost 100 entries were made in the four categories in 2009, the first year of the awards. Kate Dent, Head of Tourism from Northamptonshire Enterprise Limited, said “This is such an exciting project. We extend our huge congratulations to all the finalists. All the businesses involved have impressed us with the excellent high standards”.
