Jenny, who is a pupil at the Ferrers Specialist Arts College, takes away a cash prize of Ł50 plus a VIP invitation to the world premičre on Saturday 24th July, in Oundle School Chapel, by newly appointed Director of Oundle for Organists, Robert Quinney.
She will also attend a performance of the work at Westminster Abbey on 27th July, receive a credit in the published edition of the new piece, and her own copy of the music published by Chester Novello Music Publishers.
Children from East Northamptonshire and Corby areas were invited to compose a tune of 6 – 12 bars long to feature in the newly commissioned work, for which Oundle International Festival (incorporating ‘Oundle for Organists’) has received major funding from Arts Council England and the PRS for Music Foundation. The piece is expected to be taken up and played by organists all over the world.
Jenny is hoping to pursue a career in music and is currently working towards her Grade 4 in piano and Grade 3 in singing.
