Waterside Activities

Centrally located in the heart of England, you'll be surprised at just how many water activities you have to choose from.

Waterside Activities

Why not bring out your adventurous side and try your hand at white water rafting or canoeing at the Nene White Water Centre, or try a taster of water skiing, wake boarding and marine biking at Grendon Lakes, or boost your adrenalin levels with jetskiing at Billing Aquadrome. If you enjoy something more sedate, then come along for a weekend of sailing on the picturesque Pitsford Water, where boat hire and camping facilities are available as well as the Royal Yachting Association.

If the thrills of wild water do not inspire you, why not calm things down a little and wander alongside the many lakes, rivers and canals spotting the wildlife as you go. The Grand Union Canal offers many inspiring walks. You can enjoy a leisurely cruise at Stoke Bruerne on the narrowboat, Indian Chief, trips are available from 25 minutes to 6 hours and incorporate one of the longest tunnels in the country, the Blisworth Tunnel, which celebrates 400 years in 2005. Also, don't forget to visit The Canal Museum to see exactly how our waterways used to work.
